Blake came to visit and meet Colby when he was about a month old! Dean loves when Uncle Bubba comes to visit and has to be by his side all the time!
Once a week we go to Life University's outpatient clinic to visit Andrew for an adjustment. He is now in clinic and has patients, we happen to be three of them. :) Colby had his first adjustment and does well with them. Dean is so used to going and is good for the most part.
Colby's one month picture looks a lot like Dean's... both of them cried when I tried. I would pick them up and get them happy again and then when I laid them back down the crying started... He is such a tiny little might!
After adjusting and having some cry sessions, I really do love being at home with my boys! There is no place I would rather be than watching them learn and grow every day. I have to take advantage of this time because it will go be so quickly! I can't believe Colby is already three months old. The best part of my day when both want to sit on my lap and snuggle!
The weekend of Easter, we took Dean's paci away. Andrew had a week break, so the first weekend we went to Build a Bear and had him put his paci's in the bear. He was excited to go and get a "paci bear". When we got there he willingly put his paci's in the bear and LOVED it! Once we got home, and it was bedtime it was a different story. He had a hard time and wanted his paci's. It took longer to fall asleep but eventually he did. After a couple of nights of crying before he fell asleep he was done asking for his paci and was going to bed like normal. We are grateful for semi smooth transition.
Saturday before Easter we went to an Easter egg hunt at a local church nearby. It was a little overcast, but Dean loved it! He totally got the idea of hunting for Easter eggs (he was able to do it last year as well).
This describes them pretty much... Colby is normally crying while Dean just goes with it. Luckily he doesn't get annoyed (or show it at least) when Colby is crying. I love matching the boys. This is them on Easter morning. For Easter we had fun searching for eggs and easter egg baskets from the Easter bunny. Dean thought he was getting another "mouse house" since that is what Santa brought him and he was a little confused... We even decorated Easter eggs.
Colby's first zoo trip! We had lots of fun on Andrew's break! Before we went to Florida, we took the boys a lot of places and tried to enjoy having him around as much as possible! We LOVE when Daddy is home. Colby slept in the wrap the whole time we were at the zoo.
We also went with some friends to the Botanical Gardens while the tulips were in bloom which is my favorite time to go. It is so gorgeous there and I am so happy we got a season pass to enjoy it throughout the year.
For the end of Andrew's break we drove down to Perdido Key to spend a beach vacation with my family. They had the cutest little kids park Dean loved!
Colby was too little to enjoy the beach, so he slept in the wrap or stayed in the condo for the most part. I had to readjust my way of viewing the beach for until I get older... It isn't the type of vacation where you relax and read a book with the sand between your toes. It's more like play in the sand, which I loved doing with Dean this time around. Dean just loves the beach! It is totally his happy place like it is ours. I hope Colby will love it just as much as we do when he gets older.
While at the beach, we played in the sand, flew kites, played bocci ball, watched General Conference, went swimming, and the boys when kayaking and jet skiing. Dean was exhausted by the end of the trip!
We had great food on our trip as well. We can't go to Perdido Key without going to Lillian's. They have amazing pizza! (You like how we included Colby??? :))
Colby changes every day! He has hair like an old man and lost all of it on top except for this dark patch in the back. He still has a sensitive stomach and not a big fan of eating, so I don't think he will be as chubby as Dean. He is average for weight but tall for his age so far.
Colby had to have his first hair cut already! It was growing and down to his back and covering his ears. Andrew started with the scissors and it wasn't cut very neat, so he switched to the buzzers. Colby did pretty well just leaning on Mommy. He had much more hair than Dean did.
We have spent a lot of time recently going to Dyson's games. His team, the Hillgrove Hawks, were first in Region! It was an awesome game to go to, and we are sad that our baseball days (until Dean starts playing) are coming to an end since Dyson is a senior. They are the highlight of his week! Dean loves going to Dyson's games and we may try to sign him up for t-ball this Fall...I also love how they have matching shirts to wear to his game that have his number and "Uncle D" on the back.
Last week we took the boys to their first MLB game. The Atlanta Braves were playing the LA Dodgers, and we go to sit in the Coke suite. My dad hooked our family up with some awesome tickets with free food and right behind home plate. It was the perfect setting for Dean because there was space for him to run around. He got his very won tomahawk (hearing his say it is the cutest) and totally did the chop! We had such a fun time as a family!
This is a long post since I was slacking and hadn't posted in a while... My free time is limited these days... We feel extremely blessed and so happy with the little family we have created that we get to make these memories with!
